As a small city on the northwest side of the Minneapolis metro, East Bethel was last recorded to have a population of approximately 12000 people. It is located alongside Minnesota State Highway 65.

East Bethel bordered land belonging to the Natives until 1837, and the Township of Bethel was incorporated in 1858, which was the same year Minnesota was admitted to the Union. The name Bethel is a derivative of the biblical term for “House of God.”
It was the Quakers who could be credited with first settling the area, however many were killed and driven away due to a notorious massacre perpetuated by the Natives in 1862. The Indian Wars would result in the area being sparsely occupied till many years later.
Bethel was divided from Linwood Township in 1871, and East Bethel was incorporated as a township in 1957. It was ultimately incorporated as a city in 1974.
East Bethel features nearly 50 square miles of land filled with lakes and meadows. As a convenient getaway, the city's most desired locations appear to be in close proximity to the city's numerous small lakes. However, many of East Bethel's most valuable homes appear to be located in its new, sprawling developments.
The median property value in East Bethel was last recorded to be above $230000. According to Niche.com, the city was ranked 232 of 474 best places to buy a house in the state of Minnesota.
A total of 10 public schools serve East Bethel, all of which receive good ratings. There are two high schools in the area, both of which serve grades nine through twelve.
East Bethel has a rich history, and its most historic places would have to be its rail station, its post office and Cooper's Corner, which is where the city's first downtown was located.
