What began with a cemetery for deceased German settlers on the outskirts of Lent Township led to large plots of land being sold by a man named Stacy B. Collins. By 1870, the area would be named after him and, by 1875, it would be fully established with an operational post office.
Soon thereafter, railroad tracks were laid and, by 1923, Stacy would be incorporated as a village.
As a small city, Stacy has a total of seven public schools for its children, including two high schools.
Niche.com describes the schools as above average.
While many find simple pleasure in the outdoors with a peaceful afternoon walk along the Sunrise Prairie Trail or with a dip into the West Branch Sunrise River, others find themselves in the city's parks. Stacy celebrates a variety of parks with sports fields, including a number of baseball fields.
Stacy is also home to a handful of restaurants and saloons.
Considering its large wooded lots, the city has plenty to offer anyone.
